Traditional Straigt Edge Loincloth

I'm really glad i saved this. Its from the San Diego Reader in 2003. The article is  called Crasher and the premise is these two dudes crash parties then write about how they got laid or something. So apparently they "crashed" our house show that was poorly attended by like fifteen crustie punx at the most, who were only there to see detrimental greed (remember them?).  The article is full of riveting sociological observations about the punk scene and some deep knowledge about the straight edge movement. Its actually pretty awesome how much bullshit he made up about ass flaps worn by said crusters. There was another page that talked about a much better indie rock n roller party they attended the night before that i didn't bother scanning.

klonopin unreleased "metal" ep

The years from 2001 to 2008 kind of blur together for me so its hard to pin down exact dates but klonopin was a band that I believe existed from around 2002-2004. Started by this guy named Zac Coleman who had previously played in a wacky thrash band called no policy (fun fact/unsubstantiated rumor--Dave Mustaine moved to the north county San Diego area and I hear these days Zac is his right hand man). Said band dressed up in costumes when they played and refered to their music as FUNCORE. The singer of no policy was a child actor who was in the movie Little Giants and i guess was also in that show Grace Under Fire. Straight brandon cruz status. Any ways the guitar player zac also had a brief stint in a local ESCO THRASH band called Crippled Mongulloid, which is a noteworthy tidbit of local hardcore history/trivia. Other notable band members were Reed Olson who also played/plays drums in waco fuck and Jake Lopez who played guitar in a local Esco punk band called Mexican Space Shuttle and would later play guitar in waco fuck. Also in the band was this girl named Joy and this other dude named Zac who played bass.
Klonopin was a fucking ferocious live band, fast as fuck and they really nailed the start/stop random time change infest/power violence style (having an ill drummer always helps) but also had catchy as fuck song writing and little metal leads and cool guitar work. this was their second ep (ill get around to posting the first one soon) and it showed them moving in a more overtly metal direction while still being, for the most part, a power vioence/thrash band. Unfortunately right before releasing this record the band would implode a few days before their second west coast tour due to creative and personal differences. With no more band this recording would never see the light of day, i dont even think too many people even heard it, which is a shame. A few of the founding memebers of klonopin would rework these songs in a death metal/grind band called Holy Tyrant.

WACO FUCK-human resource

this track appeared on the compilation pictured above. i dont remember how many were pressed or any other pertinent info like that, kinda sad considering it came out like last year or so. i really like this song, i guess its a good indication of what the six other songs yet to be released sound more like than opposed to the last record we put out like three and a half years ago now. fuck only three years? seems like forever ago
